Twinkle BabiesA thirty minute introductory dance class consisting of ballet, tap, and creative movement, and dancers will learn the basic steps while learning to follow directions and imitate movement in a positive environment. Engaging music is used to get these little guys inspired to dance. The use of props such as twinkle bears and hula hoops enables young dancers to use their imagination, creativity, and most of all, have fun.

Twinkle StarsAn age specific forty five minute class consisting of ballet, tap, and jazz/creative movement. The purpose of the class is to introduce young dancers to the three styles of dance, and inspire movement and creativity within a positive environment. Dancers will also learn basis step an terminology in all three styles. For example, all dancers will learn what a "plie" is and how to demonstrate one. The use of fun age appropriate music engages the young dancer's minds and bodies. The use of props such as hula hoops for "freeze dance" makes the end of class most fun!

BalletThe foundation of dance itself, SDS is certified in Progressive Ballet Technique. It is essential for every dancer to learn terminology and sets of exercises that are incorporated in to barre and center work. Body placement, posture, balance, flexibility, and coordination are essential to the skilled development of all dance forms.

LyricalConsidered "fast ballet", a song is used to help tell the story with strong emotion. Lyrical also has a category of contemporary which is fused with jazz, ballet, and acrobatics, this form of dance can be seen on TV shows such as So You Think You Can Dance. Students must be enrolled in Ballet to take this class.

Top Hats and TailsInspired by famous leading men, Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly, Top Hats and Tails is an age specific forty five minute all-boys dance class consisting of tap, jazz, and hip hop movement. Geared toward a young boy's active and physical nature, the purpose of the class is to introduce young male dancers to the three styles of dance and inspire movement and creativity trough jumps and turns. Dancers also learn basic steps and terminology. For example, all dancers will learn what a "shuffle" is and how to demonstrate one.
